Since the winter of 1936 / 1937, Sun Valley Ski Club has supported local, national and world class mens and womens racing. The valley supported Sun Valley International Open, Inter-Collegiate Ski Meet, Midwinter Sport Carnivals, Singles Week, Olympic Tryouts, ski tours to Pioneer Cabin, the Diamond Sun, ski jumping, and most recently the Skoch Cub, Leif’s Race and the Billy Goat Loppet. These snow events were also accompanied with indoor awards ceremonies, galas and socials. And as always, the SVSC supports life in the mountains year round activities in skiing, riding, hiking, canoeing and travel.

This SVSC Race Clinic is conceived for all levels of skiing/riding experience. The clinic will start mid-December and runs through March. Training is based out of the Warm Springs Lodge Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The two hours training sessions begin at 9:30 with venues to include Warm Springs, Hemmingway, Cozy, and Arc Park. Race disciplines include Super Giant Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Slalom. Course will be user friendly and set for all abilities. Daily guidelines and coaching are provided which aim to improve racing skills and carving better turns anywhere on Baldy.
The Skoch Cup is a multi day, multi event US Ski & Snowboard Masters Race. It brings USSA Masters Racers from around Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Montana.
Billy Goat Loppet
The Billy Goat Loppet is a pre-race to the Boulder Mountain Tour. As snow, parking, and participants changed, the race was moved from Prairie Creek to Sun Valley Nordic Center. It is a race for all ages and abilities.
Bradford Ski Club Open
The Bradford Ski Club Open began as a memorial race for Robert Bradford who was first in Sun Valley on leave in 1941 where he literally ran into his not yet wife Rosie. As the story goes, it happened in Sun Valley, the couple was hooked on the valley and continue to support the love of winter life. The Bradford Ski Club Open is now a family event with individual and family teams events, costume as you like and fun for all.
